This immersive safari is designed to follow the Great Wildebeest Migration across the Serengeti ecosystem. Depending on the season, you may witness dramatic river crossings, calving season, or intense predator interactions, making each journey unique and unforgettable.
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha, a drive of approximately 45 minutes to one hour. As you settle into your accommodation, the rest of the day is left at leisure to relax after your journey. You may enjoy the lodge facilities, take a short walk in the surrounding area, or simply unwind. In the evening, your guide will meet you for a detailed safari briefing, explaining the route, seasonal migration patterns, and what to expect during your adventure.
Day 2: Arusha to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you begin your journey to Serengeti National Park. Depending on your chosen package, this will either be a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approximately 6–7 hours) or a short domestic flight offering breathtaking aerial views of the landscape. If traveling by road, you will pass through the highlands, with an optional stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint before descending into the vast Serengeti plains. Upon entering the park, wildlife sightings begin almost immediately. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive en route to your camp, spotting animals such as giraffes, zebras, elephants, and possibly lions. You arrive at your camp in the evening for dinner and overnight stay under the African sky.
Day 3: Serengeti – Full Day Migration Tracking
Today is dedicated entirely to following the Great Migration. After an early breakfast, you head out into the Serengeti plains in search of the massive herds of wildebeest and zebras. Your guide will use their experience and up-to-date knowledge to track the herds, which may involve moving across different regions of the park. Depending on the time of year, you may witness thousands of animals grazing, calving, or moving in long columns across the plains. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are often nearby, creating opportunities for dramatic wildlife encounters. A picnic lunch is enjoyed in the bush, allowing you to spend the entire day immersed in the wilderness before returning to camp in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Serengeti – Migration Experience Continues
Another full day is spent exploring the Serengeti and following the migration. Each day offers a different perspective, as the herds are constantly moving. In the northern Serengeti, you may witness thrilling river crossings where wildebeest brave crocodile-filled waters, while in the southern plains, you may observe calving season with newborn animals and increased predator activity. The flexibility of the day allows your guide to adjust the route based on wildlife movements, ensuring the best possible experience. You will again enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch before returning to camp for dinner.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, you enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, taking in the last moments of this iconic landscape. You then begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with en-route wildlife viewing along the way. The scenery gradually changes as you leave the plains and ascend into the lush highlands. By late afternoon, you arrive at your lodge located on or near the crater rim, where you can enjoy spectacular views overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater. The evening is spent relaxing at the lodge.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari. The crater floor is home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, offering excellent chances to see lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and the rare black rhinoceros. As you explore the diverse habitats, from open grasslands to freshwater lakes, you will enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot near a hippo pool. After the safari, you ascend the crater and begin your drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
